Treatment of gaseous effluents

In 2021, a new treatment system was installed at Pavigrés II to treat gaseous effluents containing fluorides. It is an end-of-line measure, downstream of the kiln, which is a Best Available Technique (BAT) in the Ceramics sector.
The purification process is dry - Bag filter. It is based on the reaction of the pollutant in the gas effluent to be treated, which reacts chemically when in contact with the solid medium (calcium hydroxide Ca(OH)2).
The efficiency of this treatment system is very high, justifying the heavy investment in its installation, maintenance and operation.
This way, we reduce environmental impacts (such as acid rain, soil and water pollution) and consequently improve our Ecological Footprint.
